Editorial Guidelines & Data Verification Policy
Last Updated: February 13, 2026
Mission Statement:
At CanadaPaymentDates.ca, our goal is to provide accurate, timely, and simplified financial information to Canadians.
We are an independent, privately-owned publisher. We are not affiliated with the Government of Canada, the CRA, Service Canada, or any provincial ministry.
Because our content impacts your financial well-being (YMYL), we adhere to strict Human-First editorial standards. Every date, dollar amount, and policy we publish is verified against official government ledgers.
1. Our "Human-First" Verification Methodology
We do not use AI to predict or guess future payment dates. Our schedules are built using a rigorous three-step human verification process:
- Step 1: Primary Source ExtractionWe review the Income Tax Act, official benefit circulars, and "Newsroom" releases from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
- Step 2: The "Weekend Rule" AdjustmentGovernment payments are never issued on weekends or statutory holidays. We manually adjust all published dates to the nearest preceding business day to ensure accuracy.
- Step 3: Provincial Cross-ReferencingFor provincial benefits like ODSP (Ontario), AISH (Alberta), or Income Support, we cross-reference internal ministry memos with public disbursement schedules to ensure local accuracy.
2. Accuracy & Payment Timing Guarantee
We do not promise early payments.
CanadaPaymentDates.ca pulls data directly from official government sources. Our data is as accurate as the government's own schedule at the time of publication.
- We cannot speed up your direct deposit.
- We cannot influence the government's processing times.
- We do not speculate on "secret" or "bonus" payments that have not been officially announced.
3. Citations & Sourcing Policy
You will never see a claim on our site without a source. We prioritize Primary Government Sources over news reports.
- Primary Sources: Canada.ca, Ontario.ca, Alberta.ca, and official CRA circulars.
- Secondary Sources: We may reference major Canadian financial institutions (RBC, TD, Scotiabank) strictly regarding deposit processing times or banking holidays.
4. AI Usage Transparency
We use Artificial Intelligence (AI) strictly as a tool for formatting and summarizing complex legal text.
- 🚫 No AI Fact-Checking: AI is never used to verify dates, dollar amounts, or eligibility rules. Humans verify all numbers.
- ✅ Human Oversight: Every article is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human researcher (Jeff Calixte) before publication.
5. Corrections & Updates
We strive for 100% accuracy, but government policies can change overnight.
- If we make an error: We will correct it immediately and place a "Correction Notice" at the top of the article.
- If the Government changes a date: We will update the schedule and add a "Last Updated" timestamp to the post.
- How to report an error: If you see data that conflicts with a new government announcement, please email editor@canadapaymentdates.ca with the subject line "Correction Request."
